Goli Soda took the initiative to familiarize people about bird watching and get them started on this interesting hobby. This session was conducted on March 14th, 2015 at Ashvita Nirvana by Prabha Bob – An Avid Naturalist, who is also a columnist in a community newspaper and shares her expertise on this subject. She is a resident of R A Puram and has been observing and documenting the birdlife of Boat Club for the past 15 years.Prabha shared all her knowledge through an audio visual presentation and got the participants started on
- How to Identify Birds,
- Bird Watching Locations in Chennai and the ideal seasons for bird watching
- How to Pursue Bird Watching in Chennai.
Prabha also spoke about the her experience of the birds she has spotted along with the time, location & description on their appearance and behavior. The follow up to this would be a bird walk conducted by her to give people a first hand experience of bird watching.
