Goli Soda & Eco Femme Presented an awareness talk called “Re-valuing Menstruation – because Life depends on it! “
This event was conducted on Friday, November 28th @ Ashvita Nirvana by a representative from Eco Femme.
Eco Femme is a social enterprise in Auroville, South India. They make washable cloth pads & promote menstrual practices that are safe, clean & eco friendly. Eco Femme cloth pads are made of cotton and promote well being through the whole menstrual cycle, as well as being affordable and beautiful too.
At Goli Soda we retail their products, this session was conducted to educate people on the benefits of using these eco friendly cloth pads for personal as well as environmental benefit. This program aimed at reaching out to women in order to revitalise healthy, affordable, eco positive & dignified menstrual practices.
Through an audio visual presentation the representative covered the following topics:
- Environmental and health impact of sanitary waste (what’s in a pad?)
b. Alternative menstrual products and care
c. “Ad-versity” of media messaging around sanitary products and what this communicates to women
A Small Q&A was conducted post the session with participants.
